It is colder than I am used to this time of year (i left home and it was a muggy 78) and my apartment is wee-tiny (with oddly high ceilings, idk) and i have about 150 bucks to my name until i go job begging tomorrow afternoon, but i am in chicago in my apartment and it is AWESOME.

the internet situation will hopefully be remedied soon. Fangirls should nto be denied high speed access. it should be a law. I am pretty sure the slow-ass internet i'm on right now? belongs to the boys & girls club across the street. They have facebook blocked and i am not impressed.

aaaand i will be attending the gold motel show on the 20th even if i have to do very bad things for the money.

They have rolled in and are crashing with her roommate's bf for the night before the head into the city to move their stuff in tomorrow. This should be the last time you hear from me on the matter, but she wanted y'all to know. :D

Hey everyone! ink_on_the_page here, letting you know that Brandi is on her way to Chicago. She's on the phone with me right now, and says that she just crossed the Illinois state line. They got a late start due to a plethora of shenanigans but she should be there by this evening. It will probably be a little while yet before she has steady internet access, but she'll be there and i'm sure she'll find a way to let y'all know.

So, stephanometra came into houston for ren fest and cobra starship, and i being broke, told her i would totally meet her for early dinner/late lunch at house of pies (omnomnom, PIE). Rachel is a bad influence because i somehow ended up deciding that i needed to go to the show. (this was probably a direct result of the fact that i had never seen cobras live, and rachel was not sure who else was going to attend and i could HARDLY let her go by herself and thus was i convinced.) So we totally went and had a ball talking to security during the maine, and talking about ficstuffs, in the lounge area of Warehouse.

so. gabe saporta is my favorite lol drunky celebrity ever, Vicky-t is a sweetheart, suarez loves his babby niece, Ryland knows better than to anger the tiny by siding against them, and Nate is ridiculous. Status: Normal. All is right with the world, and such. And cobra Starship is obviously made of amazing.

Also, very pissed at myself for not going to the cobras after party at Plush after being told we should go (ty ryland, considering we were the only fans outside the venue over 17 that were not parents). the worry was financial, and i JUST found out there was no cover. thanks for not saying so at the show, cobras. >:( you are forgiven, though, because the show was AWESOME, if far too brief.

i am out the door to work, and calling hte manager at that place i practically lived in to see when she wants me to start working there, too, and i realised.

i won't have a job in chicago. i jsut spent 5+months being unemployed. i did nto like it, monetary issues aside.

so. updating, i gess? about to go home and crash, but. this weekend, we built a giant cthullu sand sculpture (witht he boddy of a sphinx. i don't even know, guys)  and it was amazing. pictures probably later tonight. and and and! I have been working on my art, but drawing greta is vexing me (i've got about 8 rough sketches, and not a one i can work with) but i am so excited for bgbb. and it's making me want to write and considering the works in progress list, and cowrites, that's a good thing.

yeah, i was totally hiding from the internet. (excluding twitter. that apparently does not count.)

I am visiting some friends. and am very hungover. HOOOOOOWEVER. i got my fics to mix and do art for for BGBB?
AAND I LOVE THEM TO TINY BITS AND PIECES. OMG.

the mix is... something akin to WAY TOO FUCKING LONG right now. i'm going to have to cut soooo many tracks. And I cannot make up my mind which scenes i want to illustrate for the art. there are something lik, oh, i dunno, TWELVE, that i would theoretically like to do. *hands*

so what's up with you, flist?

Unemployment continues, even though i have applied everywhere that is not fast food service (not counting coffee shops, since that's food service work i actually enjoy.). And my neighbor's internet has been pretty much refusing to work properly from ANYWHERE on our property for three or four days. hence my radio silence across the board.

HOWEVER! My sister and I have been shenanigating at night when we can't sleep, doing co-op art or working on our own art in the general vicinity of eachother (the better to steal each other's supplies. I'm taking her water color pencils and she's taking my ink and pens.) So i've got. A kind of (super-mini)mini-art dump? Preview? I don't know. just some stuff I/we were fooling around with at 4 am, Most of it crappy, but relevant to my interests

I apologize in advance for the shitty quality of the photos and the un-inked art that is nigh-unto impossible to really see well. My scanner is on the fritz and my memory card for my camera is missing so. Camera phone photos. Hence why they are a preview and not an actual art dump.

Anyway, firefox is being thoroughly evil about co-operating (i think i'm at something like 30 tabs with to-read BBB fic, and that's going through with a fine tooth comb and picking only the things I really want to read.), So I'm out. also, They are kicking me out of the cafe as it is 5 minutes till closing time.

I apologize to my Flist. Unemployment does that too me. I sleep a lot when not job hunting or avoiding friends who want to hang out (because i have no money to go do the things they want to do when hanging out. i currently have ten bucks to my name. and I'm saving that for cigarettes.) because I don't want to be that person that can't pay their own way somewhere, eve if my friends are generous to a fault and wouldn't mind nd would yell at me when i tried to pay them back later.

Unemployment also boosts my reading, because there is no better way to kill time waiting for call backs from prospective employers than catching up on your reading, right? So i'm steadily making my way through BBB (I have about 40 tabs of fic open right now for when my connection inevitably fades later) AND. I picked up one of the Fables graphic novels that I don't already have (a million thanks to the flister who sent me the first book for christmas/yule this last year. you knwo who you are and i love you! I am well and truly addicted now) and devoured it in about thrity minutes. I'm working on Christopher Moore's Lamb when i am away from my computer/internet and it's turning out to be one of the funniest books i have ever picked up.
